OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TO FACILITATE THE RESCUE, REHABILITATION AND HOPEFUL RELEASE OF SICK, INJURED AND/OR ORPHANED WILDLIFE FOUND IN THE NATURE COAST REGION OF FLORIDA
WHAT WE DO
NWWR started in 1985. Much of the work we do is educating the public. We can help determine, for example, when to get involved with an animal and when to leave nature to handle the situation. We don’t always know at first glance what is the best procedure to use when encountering a wild animal. That’s why sometimes just asking a few questions can make a difference in an animal's survival. And none of us want an animal to suffer.
We are available to help determine the best avenue for this situation and if necessary capture, transport and rehabilitate the animal until it is strong enough to return to the wild.
We hold a free and open to the public “General Meeting” on the 3rd Tues of each month, at 7 pm, at our sanctuary at 7360 S. Finale Pt. in Homosassa, Florida. Here we come together to replenish supplies, exchange animals, and discuss any concerns or brainstorm new ideas.
